Maci

Tummy time!

Mommy is determined to catch me smile on camera, but not if I can help it!

Wow! My burp cloth is sooo interesting! Who needs toys?

I'm trying to take a nap here, unless you want to pick me up, cause ya know, I'm okay with that too!

Maci is 4 1/2 months old already! Time goes too fast. The other day I packed up all of her newborn and 0-3 month outfits and felt kinda sad that she had gotten so big already.

She's such a good baby that I even lay her down in her crib awake, I know you can't believe this would happen in the Kletke house, but yes, even awake and she talks herself to sleep.

She's a wiggly worm now too. She is ready to move and it probably won't be much longer. We have to babyproof all over again.

Through the sands of time.....

Matthew & Avery in their new Crab Sand Box.
Mommy & Daddy decided to get the kidoodles a sand box after we saw how much fun they had digging in the one at the fair. It will also save our backyard, since they love to dig holes all over the yard, and mommy will not stress out over that! Of course now I feel like we live at the beach with all the sand all over the place. Oh well, the kids are enjoying it and sand doesn't hurt anything! Marc had a wonderful time hauling 15 50lb. bags of sand to the backyard, as did I vacuuming it up from the inside of the van. Never a dull moment at the Kletke's!

Hmm, the kids seemed to have the most fun at the fair by digging in the dirt!

We arrived at the Fair at 10:30am on Saturday and actually stayed until 3:15 pm! Wow! The best part was that we all had a GREAT time! We ate lots of fair food, (YUM!) walked through the buildings, played some midway games, and of course played in the dirt. We even found a huge sandbox that the kids loved digging in. Avery, Matthew, and I then slid down the huge wave type slide 2 times. Daddy passed on that and held Maci.

Matthew's Visit to the Fire Station!

Matthew got to visit the Fire Station today! I picked him up from PreK and we went and bought cookies to take to the Fire Fighters. My MOMS club was doing this in Norman today as a way to remember 9/11, so I thought we would visit a firestation by Matthew's school in OKC. We thanked them for the job they do and then they gave Matthew a tour of the fire trucks! He got to sit in the cab and honk the horn and wear a helmet. He also got to shoot water out of the brush truck! So exciting! Matthew even wore his fire truck shirt and tells us often that he wants to be a fireman when he grows up!

Mommy, Daddy, & Maci

Maci Elizabeth's Baptism was today at our church, St. Andrew's United Methodist. She wore the same christening gown that Avery wore at her baptism. It was a really nice service and Maci was very happy. She didn't even seem to mind when the pastor put the water on head.

We served lunch at our house after the service.

First Day of School!

Matthew & Avery dressed for school!

Matthew & his Pre-K teacher, Mrs. Brewer!

Avery & her 1st grade teacher, Mrs. Cox!

Avery & Matthew began their first day at Wayland Bonds Elementary School on Tuesday, August 14th! They were both sooo excited!

Matthew drew a picture of himself at his new school and got to ride scooters and play in the loft that is built into his room.

Avery is learning about the Five Senses with watermelons! She will have a Watermelon Feast on Friday. She guessed that the watermelon had 2,000 seeds.

They both had a wonderful first day and couldn't wait to go back the next day.

Avery also began gymnastics at the Little Gym on Tuesday evening and really enjoyed it.

Matthew had his Karate class at the Little Gym on Wednesday afternoon and looked so sweet in his karate uniform. I will post pics of that later.

Thursday, August 16th

I walked the kids into school this morning and dropped Matthew off at his class and then walked Avery down to her hall. I kissed her on the cheek and she wiped it off! My baby is already too grown up for mom to kiss her in public. Tomorrow I am letting her walk down to her class by herself....time to loosen the apron strings!

Matthew's teacher called this morning about 10:30 and said Matthew's tummy hurt and he was upset. I went to school and picked him up and asked him if he was sick and he replied "No, I'm just hungry!". They hadn't had snack yet and so I took him home and he ate cheddar bunnies! All in a day's fun!

Summer Daze

Great Granny holding Maci

Avery and Matthew with Ga Ga's (my mom) puppies (Arnold & Henry)

The kids love to play with the dogs and of course the dogs love the kids!

Maci went to the dr. and had to get her shots! It was so sad! She cried, but was soon comforted by mommy. Avery volunteered to take the shots for Maci! Thought that was so sweet. She weighed 12lbs 8oz and is 23 1/4 inches long. 75% for weight and 50% for height. Our little chunky monkey! Mommy makes rich milk! =)

Matthew got a bike! It is actually too big for him, but he rides it a little bit and then trades with Avery. He will grow into it soon. He was so excited that we were able to find a yellow bike. That is his favorite color. The kids and I have been going on nightly bike rides/walks. If we haven't left the house by 8pm, Maci starts fussing. She loves to be put in the stroller for her walk.
